The Prompt® system is an all inclusive kit for the rapid preparation of standardized bacterial suspensions used for antibiotic testing by the Kirby-Bauer (Mueller Hinton) method. An 0.5 McFarland standard is not required as suspensions prepared using the Prompt® system are automatically standardized. Kit has materials sufficient for 60 specimens

No incubation, no manual turbidity adjustments or dilutions are required.
Standardized bacterial suspension can be prepared in less than 60 seconds and held up to 6 hours at room temperature before use.
Procedure has a proven high correlation with conventional Kirby-Bauer techniques.
