The accuracy of blood gas and electrolyte measurements can be greatly influenced by how samples are collected and handled. The specialized Blood Gas Monovette provides an easy and cost effective method for obtaining high quality whole blood samples that can be run on a variety of analyzers including iStat, IRMA TRUpoint, VetStat, Vetlyte, EasyLyte and others. While technically a blood collection device, the Blood Gas Monovette operates more like a syringe in that samples are drawn from the patient by the aspiration technique using a standard luer-type needle. Each sterile unit comes preloaded with lithium heparin and individually wrapped. They are available in both 1 and 2 ml draw sizes.
